Sweet Carolina Photography Location Guide

Your Session, Your Story, Your Perfect Setting

Choosing the right location plays a huge role in how your photos feel. I’ve carefully selected some of my favorite spots from Raleigh down to the South Carolina line that photograph beautifully, feel relaxed, and don’t require extra fees or permits.

These locations are perfect for families, seniors, couples, and more — giving you natural, joyful images without the stress.

Raleigh Area Locations

Wide open fields, glowing sunsets, and a soft, dreamy feel. Perfect for playful families and golden hour sessions.

College Campuses & Downtowns

There are so many beautiful, easy-to-access spots around town and local universities that are perfect for photos. Sidewalks, open green spaces, and common areas make great backdrops and typically don’t require any special permits.

Lake Johnson Park

A mix of water, trails, and greenery. Great for movement, variety, and relaxed sessions with kids.

Historic Yates Mill County Park

Ideal if you are looking for a rustic, historical vibe with a classic water-powered gristmill.
